I am Dalziel; a music artist based in Central Finland. I am a composer, songwriter, arranger, remixer, and performer. My work blends electronic and dance music forms with traditional song writing to create thoughtful, approachable music. With a focus on the furry subculture, my songs explore themes central to people with online lives including identity, sexuality, and connectedness. By using the frameworks of dance music, my work is approachable and relatable, allowing a wider audience to reflect on their own experiences and situations in life, as well as gaining an insight to those of others’.

In genuinely rarely explored territory, I define what furry music fundamentally is. By boldly embracing the lives of the diverse members of this subculture, minority voices and alternative lifestyles are proudly given the spotlight. Bravely tackling the controversial and the risqué, I do not shy away from any aspect of the furry subculture, sometimes even lampooning it using communal self-deprecating humour in a good-natured way.

I push the expectations of dance music to make it something insightful and introspective and reflective, while maintaining uplifting energy. My live performances innovatively combine electronic instruments and controllers with traditional musicianship. These shows are a hybrid of a DJ set (though with entirely original music) and a band with live instrumentalists and vocal collaborators.
